It was a beautiful sunny day, in the land of Amuzukwu, there was a famous farmer in the land of Amuzukwu. He was called Ifechukwu the Great because of his humility and hardworking spirit. Ifechukwu was a tall, dark and hulking man who never believed in the impossible. He believes that he can overcome any difficulty that comes his way. He is a very hardworking man. His agricultural lands is among the best in Amuzukwu. Even the king of the community was jealous of his fertile lands. A few years later, Ifechukwu was eager and ready to get married. Ifechukwu wants to marry a beautiful and industrious woman who will help him with farming and other housework. Ifechukwu started looking for a woman who could become a good wife for him. He met many women but could not find the type of woman he wanted to marry. One evening, Ifechukwu went to the stream to get water. After getting it, he picked up the water jar and decided to go home. When he returned, he saw a young girl climbing the hill leading to the stream in the village. As he approached the young woman, he noticed that the woman was carrying two water pots. One is on the right and the other is on the left. Ifechukwu was attracted to this young lady, he quickly climbed the hill towards the young lady. “Good evening beautiful maiden,” Ifechukwu said. The young girl turned around and saw ifechukwu next to her, Good evening," she greeted Can I help you with the pot? No, don't worry, everything will be fine, she replied. No, you cannot carry these two pots, ifechukwu said as he carried one of the pots. Please, what is your name? said ifechukwu I Am ojiugo, daughter of Chief Eze. Ifechukwu and ojiugo continued to visit each other until ifechukwu decided to marry her. Ifechukwu and his parents visit ojiugo's parents, her dowry will be paid as demanded by traditions. Ifechukwu and his kinsmen visited ojiugo's parents to pay her dowries populary known as bride price. Her dowries was finally paid. Ojiugo's parents were happy that the right thing has been done. It was a happy day for Ifechukwu. He took ojiugo, his beautiful wife home. They enjoyed their first night very well and they had their first sexual intercourse. Ifechukwu took very good care of his wife. Ojiugo was a hardworking woman and she loves Ifechukwu so much. Ojiugo and Ifechukwu are meant to stay together. Their marriage was very strong and it flourished. They happily worked their farms and did so many interesting things together. Yes, life was extremely pleasant for them. But little did they know that trouble looms. The King of the community was a womanizer. He loved young women and he noticed that Ojiugo was very beautiful. King jaja was now admiring her beauty with a bad motive if having sexual intercourse with her. In Amuzukwu, it is a tabøø for a man to sleep with another man's wife. He planned on how to execute his sinster plan by moves towards her. One day King Jaja saw ojiugo returning home after buying foodstuff in the eke market. King jaja was a man with beautiful words powerful enough to woo any woman. He stopped Ojiugo and started telling her how beautiful she was , that he would like to have her as his second wife. Ojiugo was extremely respectful and did not insult the king. Instead she sincerely told him that she was already married to someone else. Ojiugo also reminded the king that adultery was a tabøø in the land if Amuzukwu. She went home and told her husband about her encounter with the king. Ifechukwu, her husband told her that the king was just drunk and maybe was out of his senses. The king is old and may not know you as a married maiden. Five days later , king Jaja sent two of palace maidens to give ojiugo gifts. Ojiugo was smart and knew that these gifts is a bait to get her to have sexual intercourse with the king. She immediately, rejected the gifts, telling the maidens that she didn't need them. Ifechukwu Came back from his farm and his wife ojiugo complained to him about king Jaja. Ifechukwu assured ojiugo that he will meet king Jaja tomorrow morning to make him understand that she's already married. What a wīcked world....... Wonders shall never end.......... How could someone who's already married, want another man's wife. The next day, Ifechukwu went to meet king Jaja. He was courageous and strong. On arriving at the palace, he was welcomed warmly by king Jaja. King Jaja was wise enough to read his heart. He already know what he came for. King Jaja asked ifechukwu to throw away Ojiugo. He told Ifechukwu that he would receive lands and livestock if he abandon his wife. Ifechukwu was an upright and Modest man. He was contented and quickly rejected the king's offer and plainly told the king that his love for Ojiugo can never be bought with material things. Ifechukwu explained to the king that he has enough lands and livestock. Ifechukwu was now angry and warned king Jaja to stay away from Ojiugo his wife or he would expose him to the villagers. I am the king of this village, I am sovereign and can get anything I want or need. King Jaja roared. I must defeat you because the gods are on my side, Ifechukwu said before leaving. Ifechukwu went home worried because of the conversation he had earlier with king Jaja. He was afraid of being beaten or kīllêd by the king. Later that night he disclosed his ordeal with king jaja to his beloved wife, Ojiugo.. Ifechukwu said everything that happened . Ojiugo became worried and started weeping. Ifechukwu immediately hugged and starts comforting Ojiugo assuring her that everything will soon be fine. Two days later, the couple went to farm to harvest their cassava. The king sent a spy to watch on Ifechukwu. Soon the spy told king Jaja that they are in the farm. Immediately king jaja sent two of his strongest and most trusted guards to kidnap Ifechukwu. The couple were busy harvesting their cassava when the Årmed guards arrived and førcefully took Ifechukwu away. What have I done to deserve this ???????? Ojiugo lamented after her husband was forcefully taken away. Ifechukwu was assaulted and kidnapped by king Jaja's guards. Ojiugo was in the farm crying. Then she decided to go and inform the villagers about what just happened. She arrived at the village square crying and shouting her husband's name which called people's attention. Ojiugo was very courageous and was not shy People flocked around her to know her problems . As she mentioned that king Jaja kidnapped her husband, people started leaving one after the other until there's no one left. They were afraid of being assaulted by the king. king Jaja was a very wicked man, and was feared by the villagers. Ojiugo was disappointed in her people and she went home in pàiñs She went home and cried out, asking the God's of their land. She taunted the gods and started wondering why she's the only maiden the king loves. $he was crying and asking these questions when she suddenly fell asleep. Ifechukwu soon woke up and saw himself being tied up like a thīef. He was shocked of the sudden change until one of king Jaja's guards walked in to check on him. That was when he remembered that he was kidnapped. He remembers that his wife is at the farm alone, possibly crying. He was deeply sàddened. The guard went back to inform king Jaja that Ifechukwu is awake. Ifechukwu was still thinking about his wife Ojiugo when he noticed the presence of someone. It was king Jaja and his guards. They came to punish Ifechukwu. Ifechukwu was brought down from where he was hung and was given flogged like a thīef for challenging king Jaja. King Jaja was fürious and ordered his men to go and bring Ojiugo to his palace since she was stubborn and refused his offer. Ojiugo soon woke up and found herself laying on the floor, that was when she remembered what happened and she started crying again. She cried for almost an hour and consoled herself. She remembered what her mother always tells her "what seems difficult for man (human being) can never be difficult for God. She became invigorated and immediately started calling their God's to intervene. She was still begging the gods when king Jaja's men arrived, broke into her home with brute force and dragged her to the palace . Since you don't want it in peace, you will have pieces, Said king Jaja. 0jiugo was still crying when the king ordered his men to take her to his room. Ojiugo was taken to king Jaja's room and locked up like a crimīnal. Ten minutes later king Jaja walked in. At the sight of him Ojiugo started crying for help but none came . King Jaja was admiring Ojiugo's fresh skin and succulent breasts. King jaja wants to ràpe her. He removed his royal clothes and was completely nàkëd. Then he started coming close to Ojiugo. He went close to her and grabbed her by the nëck. He carresed her brea$ts and attempted to have an intercourse with her. As he lay on her body, thunder from the sky pierced his roof and struck him and his guards to de.ath. Ojiugo ran out immediately, searching for her husband Ifechukwu. She saw him and untied him. After some days the death of king Jaja spread out. The villagers came for Ifechukwu and his wife Ojiugo congratulating them for being so brave and fearless. The king diëd because he was newly initiated in a cult group. He was not suppose to see a nàked woman or carress her breàsts for 50 days. After three market days Ifechukwu was made the king of the village. His wife was now the queen. They later gave birth to two adorable sons. The End @Godwin
